Egyptian Erotic Art: Blowjob
I’ve seen a fair bit of Egyptian erotic art, but this is the first Egyptian blowjob I’ve seen. Looks like our man / king / god is getting a little morning mouth service while his valet / lackey / priest equivalent puts his clothing or armor on:
Alas, I have no provenance for this piece.

Interestingly, that’s Anubis, god of the underworld, behind him. So it’s a puzzling scene, and it’s hard to tell if this is a previosuly-unknown part of the funerary ritual (the fellation of the king), or if this is some lovely goddess seeing to her god-husband’s need.
Either way, there’s nothing like mummy-porn.
Okay, that’s interesting, but is he already dead? It would explain the “pants” as it were, and why Anubis is holding him up. The king had to have everything else provided for in the tomb, so why not blowjobs as well? It might be far fetched and I’m completely wrong. But if I’m right then I hope she’s a spirit girl giving the king head, although it would be much weirder if it was some sort of necrophilic practice.
Then why is the king holding is hand up above her face??? This probably proves that he was still alive when Anubis met him.
wasn’t something about Horace beung brought back to life by a sex act? I know it would wake me up!
that’s an interesting placement of her hand.
Actually, I’m fairly certain that it was Osiris who was res-erected, not Horace.
It looks to me as though she’s at a college party and was in the middle of taking a toke from some very elaborate bong when, just in time, the R.A. walked in and snagged the pipe from her lips.
It’s very probably Isis, Osiris and Anubis.
Set (Osiris’s evil brother) hacked Osiris to
pieces and threw them in the Nile. Isis
recovered the parts and bandaged them together.
She them brought him back to life. Not through
CPR, but BJ. The illustration is supposed to
be from the Book of the Dead, but the copy
displayed in the Field Museum must be censored.
Thanks for posting it!
That’s the classic “waking up Osiris” position. I highly recommend it!
Do you have the full picture including the hieroglyphs? I might decipher that and then we’ll know for sure what is happening here.
That is an image of Osiris, Isis and Anubis. That isn’t Osiris’ hand above Isis’ head, it’s her hand. She is performing a mourning gesture. You can see her other hand wrapped around his butt. The slanted line under her eye is a tear streak. Yes, in reality the position would be physically awkward but the mummy of Osiris is the more important element in the picture so that is why it looks like it does. As for why she is blowing him? Osiris was killed by his brother Set and cut into pieces. Osiris’ sister/wife Isis found all of the pieces except his penis and put him back together. She made a substitute penis out of clay and attached it to him. She then blew life back into him by (strange but true) blowing him. Osiris was a fertility figure in ancient Egypt as well as a resurrection figure and is often depicted with an erect penis. Hope this helps.
I thought that Osiris was recognized by the greenish color of his face?
:::out of step with ancient Egyptian mythology:::
very cool picture, though . . .
Whoops, you are right. The image of the resurrected Osiris has a green or black face. My thought was that this picture showed him just about to be resurrected so his face color was still the normal brown. Another thought that came back to me was that in ancient Egyptian religion the pharaoh “becomes” Osiris when he dies. This image could then represent a pharaoh as Osiris and his queen as Isis. However, the mummy is not wearing either the pharaoh’s crown of Upper Egypt, the crown of Lower Egypt, or the double crown that was used when the kingdom was unified. The headdress the mummy has on is pretty elborate though so he could be a part of the royal family (maybe a brother). I can’t read the heiroglyphs so I can’t tell you for sure. Names are usually written inside a cartouche and I don’t see one so the symbols are probably not a name.
You are right that it is the womans hand and she is mourning the mans death. That is the outer coffin, not the man, as he would have been mummified and so she would not be able to reach his penis. The anubis figure could also be an embalmer or priest at the funeral representing Anubis. The womans style of dress and it appearing to be a very light blue indicates that this is a funeral scene. I think the deceased is either a nobleman or member of royalty.
The myth of Isis resurrecting Osiris with a blowjob is basically correct. Undoubtedly, oral sex has been around since the dawn of humanity.
However, I think the papyrus drawing is fake. This picture is an altered image. Doctored and photoshopped from a famous book of the dead papyrus from the tomb of Hunefer.
The original is at the British museum.
Here’s a link with original papyrus shown…
