It’s weird to me that they also censored the navels.
Apparently belly buttons are also bad.
In “”I dream of jeannie””…Barbara eden had to cover her’s with a jewel, so a kid like me would grow-up safe . Well I grew-up…man jeannie was hot !
so, instead of the bellybutton that everybody knows is there, they use an eye-catching jewel? How’s that work again?
:-D
The most famously censored navel of the last third of the last century had to be Barbara Eden’s! Except for a brief “oops!” / “wardrobe malfunction” of her waistband, she had to cover her belly-button on her “I Dream Of Jeannie” show by wearing a high-waisted costume with “cut-outs” which looked like a whale-tail thong peeking out of a belted skirt or second set of low-rise panties. Even the “cut-out” feature was patched with fabric! The only time you got to see her navel, was in publicity stills! It was a creative solution to an outrageous requirement.
The Starbucks logo originally had bare breasts. I don’t have to tell you what happened when they expanded operations out of the Pacific Northwest and into Meddle America.
The Taliban blew up ancient statues of Buddha, and there are average Americans who would feel righteous chiselling off Venus de Milo’s nipples.
