Nazis Out Of Costume
This post is triggered by the recent news of a political candidate who apparently has a history of dressing up in SS uniforms with his son out of, you know, purely historical interest.
All I can say is, good thing he didn’t have daughters:

I’d love to see that image much larger…..
id love to know what that is from…
That is from SALON KITTY, a movie by Tinto Brass about the SS taking over the brothel of the most exclusive madame in Berlin so they can spy on the Nazi clientele. This scene is just before they trot a troop of SS in to test whether these volunteers would make good employees of the brothel.
definitely still too soon, even 70 years later
Oh, I’d heard about the Nazis making whores wear upside down black triangles…
The movie “SALON KITTY” (from the director of Caligula) is actually based on a true story.
Madam (and resistance sympathizer), “Kitty” Schmidt was arrested by Nazis and given the choice of cooperating with the party, or being sent to a prison camp.
Her existing (already luxurious), brothel was closed for remodeling (so that it could be secretly wired with countless microphones), and later re-opened. Only this time, it was “manned” with 20 additional (new) personnel (prostitutes formerly arrested in Berlin), who (after an arduous process…), had been hand selected by the SS (for beauty, intelligence, and willingness to perform extreme acts of debauchery), for the primary new purpose of spying.
Allegedly, every conceivable dark perversion could be practiced there. The idea was to get dirt on elite government officials, high-ranking military members, and powerful foreign diplomats.
Interestingly, Goebbels attended, and ordered up a lesbian show, during a time when acts of homosexuality within Nazi Germany could otherwise get you sent to the gas chambers…
If you’re interested in the film, (as is always the case…), get the restored director’s cut DVD, with the additional 21 “never-before-seen” wide-screen minutes. It promises “frequent sex”! Rumor has it that the Australian version MAY be uncut, but I have my doubts.
Note: The Danish version (VHS) has scenes not contained in the Italian version (VHS), and oddly, the Italian version has scenes that can’t be found in the Danish version. The Spanish version is allegedly the shortest of all.
