The Crop Matters
If you didn’t know this already, this should help convince you: the person who crops the picture gets a lot of control over the scene.
I had this fairly commonplace bit of BDSM art (suggesting a forced blowjob scene) on my hard drive somewhere:
But when I did an image search to try and figure out some provenance, guess what I got instead?

This art appeared in (and on the cover of) Forced Womanhood #22. I’m guessing it was by Bruce Baker or one of his imitators.

That’s the amazing thing about Google image search – I discovered something similar recently – a crop that took off a watermark and the heads of the people photographed and then colored it sepia. Lent a rather amateur flavor to it but the positions and bodies were just a little too perfect. So I searched it and found the original at a prominent pay website.
Because of cropping, you 21st century folk don’t know why my Mona was smiling.
