If this was a letter from an enlisted man (I couldn’t tell from the source post), then it counts as a censorship fail — or perhaps just indifference on the part of the censoring officer.
I wondered about that. My thought was that if it had indeed survived military censorship, the censoring officer probably just laughed and sent it along. Or had so little imagination he did not parse the squiggle…
