A few years back there was a widely-circulating but poorly-sourced detail from a medieval illumination floating around that seems to show what I called The Toucan Of Anal Revenge: some sort of evil bird shoving his elongated beak all up into the personal genital business of some harmless people who were minding their own business while having a perfectly fine fuck.

We eventually achieved a decent attribution (thanks, Hug!) for the manuscript in question, but at the time there was no better available view of the artwork. Now, thanks to the Morgan Library, we have the better view as well. Yes folks, it’s from a prayer book:
