Shear Aesthetics
There is a town in northern Alberta called Beaverlodge. (Schoolboys prone to sniggering may note that it’s not so very far from the towns of Tumbler Ridge and Sexsmith.) It’s a welcoming sort of place:
And let’s imagine that while you are just happening to pass through Beaverlodge on some fine and random snowy April day you discover yourself to be suffering from a hair and aesthetics crisis. Where should you go? Discerning travelers will immediately recognize that there’s really only one solid choice:
It’s always the unexpected that makes travel so delightful!

In 1922 my father was born in Beaverlodge, Alberta. His parents ran an inn there.
Well Chris, if you’d ever been to Virginia, you’d find Magic Beaver beer (named after a pond on the old farm’s property), brewed by Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery who now occupies the property located in Goochland County. You might note the the “gooch” is a colloquialism for the “taint”, or the “grundle” which are probably both colloquialisms for the perineum. In relatively nearby Hanover county, we have Lickinghole Road, which will lead you to the Hanover County Air Park, which interestingly was built near the Hanover County Airport. The Hanover County Airport you might remember made national news when a large military surplus cargo plane landed there one night, because oddly, they have no runways long enough for it to ever take off again. This puzzled authorities who decided to investigate, and found the plane packed with bales of marijuana, and no one aboard. I know this because my ex-wife grew up in Henrico County which is snuggly nestled between both of the previously mentioned counties, not that I’m saying there is any further connection between the counties or my ex and the two Lickingholes. They never did find out who piloted the plane into that tiny airport, but the authorities believe he just ran off into the surrounding woods.
Now that I think about it, Henrico County has a brewery that makes a beer called “Woodbooger”…
