It’s tempting to dismiss all of these Orientalist visions of harem induction as essentially the same: lurid Western artistic veneers on what is essentially rape porn. Perhaps true as far as the dismissal goes, but this one (from the cover of Italian horror comic Terror #169) hints at an actual story to go with the lurid artwork. There’s a lot of jewelry on the fingers of those loosely bound hands, but the expression on her face suggests that her wealth may not save her:
