   I loved the last line in her post, that power tools aren’t always superior.

   I keep wanting to find out if there’s a secret segment of men who’ve gotten too intimate with vacuums. I remember being 12 and walking in on my brother and three friends in a circle jerk powered by Hoover, and have always wondered if it’s been a rite of passage for others. Hmm.

   Steff, somewhere in a long life I once heard a story (urban legend?) about dudes doing that who decided to remove the hose and insert their bits directly into the hole in the machine. As the story went, they met and found a metal blower fan rotating at high speed, ouch.

   One of these days, I’ll have to ask my brother about that. Keep in mind, this is the same guy who, with his friends, slipped me a Spanish Fly so they could see if aphrodisiacs work. (Apparently they don’t, in milk.)

   actually it is no myth. vacuums do generally have high rpm gizmos that could mangle your naughty bits. Also you have to consider the power of the vacuum. If an Oreck vac can hold up a bowling ball what kind of pressure is it going to put on your skin. Not trying to be a downer just, er, play safe
