Bacchus On Twitter
I scoffed. I balked. I dug in my heels like a crochety old person. Kids these days, and their newfangled fads. It will never amount to anything, I said. Waste of my time. If I wanted to send funny little short messages, I’d have texting enabled on my cell phone. Blah blah blah.
Meanwhile, the world kept right on changing without me.
Slow I may be, but I am finally figuring it out: people I find interesting are having conversations I want to know about, and they’re doing it on Twitter.
So, here goes. My Twitter name is: ErosBlogBacchus.
Better late than never, eh?

YAY! Welcum to stupid Twitterland. I fought it, too, but 3000 tweets later, I’m addicted. Such a great way to network with other people in the sex blog and sex work industry. You are one of the first sex blogs I ever discovered!
I resisted for a long time as well, until someone described it as being like a dinner party, where you can drift in and out as much or as little as you please, listening and participating in a wide variety of conversations (or ignoring them), and no one thinks it rude or unwelcome.
It takes a wee while, but it can grow on you. I hope you have fun with it.

I’ve tweeted many things in the past wishing that you were around to read them. Sure I could have sent an email, but…you know.
It’s an excellent way to keep up with the good/bad/ugly in the sexy-blogging world. I’m glad you’re there!

glad to see you updating Bacchus, so what will the next thing be for you to update?

I felt the same way about Facebook. I still hate that site but have caved under the crushing inevitability of it.
Now following you on Twitter. Welcome to the club!
AAG, that’s exactly what got me moving — the belated realization that the tools I long found adequate aren’t getting it done because too many other people have moved on to a new platform for their “attention management and distribution”.
However, I am still holding out on Facebook, MySpace, and all those. Among other things, they don’t seem to have adult-friendly TOS. Twitter, at least judging from their published rules, doesn’t seem to care.
Oh dear. I guess my lack of tweeting makes me an out-of-date young person? ::grumbles about having to look into twitter::
Lee, the thing is, it isn’t about age any more. With my ninety-year-old aunt, it’s about age; but these days, the tech waves are coming faster and faster — you can be young and behind the times with astonishing ease.
It boils down to discernment, really. Ninety percent (or more) of techy inventions are faddish crap, and I’ve been well served by ignoring them. Sometimes one catches my interest (cf 3D Kink) but usually I can just ignore it and it will go away.
Problem is, sometimes it doesn’t go away, and then the question is, am I flexible enough to reconsider and figure out why not? Maybe yes, maybe no, I’m still waiting for YouTube to go away and I’m pretty sure that boat will never sail.
I’ve followed! Welcome to the dark side! (@britisshameless)
